Met Office Tayside/Perthshire ForecastOutlook for Friday to Sunday: Mainly dry with sunny spells on Friday although low cloud will start to move into the east. Clouding over with rain on Saturday.
UK Outlook for Sunday 27 Jul 2008 to Tuesday 5 Aug 2008: Rain across the far northeast clearing by Sunday morning, otherwise sunny spells and isolated showers. More frequent showers at times in the extreme west on Sunday which could be heavy. Through much of next week, the best chance of dry weather will be across eastern England. However, bands of potentially thundery showers could spread across many areas from the southwest at times, particularly during the first part of next week. Many areas next week will be warm, perhaps locally very warm However, more generally unsettled and cooler conditions are possible by early August with some heavy rain at times, particularly in the north-west. The driest conditions generally in the south-east though. It is likely to become breezy at times.

Temperature: There is a slightly enhanced chance of more frequent cloudy and cool spells compared to recent summers prior to 2007. Nevertheless, mean temperatures are more likely to be above the 1971-2000 average.
Rainfall: Our forecasting methods continue to suggest that rainfall for the summer as a whole is more likely to be either near, or above average.
